My Travel Bucket List & Shutting Down Fear

Beautyosaurus Lex-Dominican Republic-travel guide-Punta Cana-Beach-Holiday-Vacation-lifestyle blog-1-10
Putting pen to paper here (err, keyboard to blog...?), and telling you where I want to travel. Goals are hard. they're hard to set, hard to follow through with, and just generally hard to work towards. That is why I'm here, today, telling you that I want to see more of the world and I will make it happen.

For most of us, we live our lives in fear. Not tiptoeing around every corner, and always looking over our shoulder kind of fear, but fear that creates doubts in our head space and prevents us from living to our fullest. That fear creates a monologue of excuses that spark up within seconds of your brilliant idea. I don't have enough money. I am way too busy. What if I fail? I'll just look like an idiot. I'm here to grant you permission to shut those thoughts down. Instead of ignoring them though, lean into them, hear them out and then press on with you know you need to do in order to do what you want to do.

I know that a ton of new series just dropped on Netflix, that your spot on the couch is warm and cozy, that your life is quite comfortable, but I also know that you have a fire within that wants so badly to be living an awesome life that you have only ever dreamed of. You deserve that life! If you are feeling flustered like Chandler in that episode of Friends where he doesn't know his lives purpose, then take some time and listen to your thoughts, trust your gut, and act immediately when it comes to you.

Now it's your turn. Grab a piece of paper and write down what scares the hell out of you but will radically change your life for the better. Jot down what it is that your soul is telling you to pursue, quick, get it down on paper before the flood gates of doubt open. This week (yes, this one), I want you to make strides towards achieving that. Don't max out your credit card, don't quit and burn bridges at your work, don't be rash just yet. Set the ball in motion, and get to pursuing. Hold yourself accountable, and instead of thinking, "I should be doing x,y, and z, but...", get off of your beautiful ass and get to it. I can promise you that it will be difficult, it will be uncomfortable, but I can also promise that you deserve a life worth living, one that excites you, and one that even scares the hell out of you every once in a while.

What does this have to do with a travel bucket list, you may be asking. Travel can drudge up a lot of doubts. It also presents this magnificent opportunity to let your faith be greater than that fear. To trust that you'll figure out the train schedule even if you don't speak a lick of Croatian, that you can climb up to the top of a Grecian cliff because you're tough, that you can take a risk and visit somewhere that your heart is pulling you to even without knowing why. So, here it goes. I'm telling you where I want to travel to, I want you to hold me accountable, and use this platform as a way to share with you that I'm kicking fears ass and letting faith guide me.

In no particular order, here is where I will be traveling to.
Greece; white structures decorated with cobalt details, all nestled up to the sea *swoon*.
Scandinavia; My first car was a Volvo, and now I own a Saab. Need I say more? I have a feeling that I'm going to love the culture here!
Bali; this is somewhere that I'm in love with without ever even visited. It's off the beaten bath, it's unconventional, and frankly I don't even know what language they speak (a quick Google search told me Balinese, which I will brush up on before I head there).
Croatia; the motherland, sort of. I am Croatian, and many Europeans are able to pick out that I'm from there. Why? I have no idea, but hopefully visiting will open my eyes to it.
Portugal; have you seen photos of this country? Yeah, me too, and it only took about three for me to want to visit.

My sweet friends, I'm here for you, you can do this, and you won't even miss an ounce of that fear!
