Caffeinating our Way Through Zürich, Switzerland

Hello There!
We woke well before the sun, shot each other a smirk and knew that brunch was on our agenda.
Minimal sleep and a serious hankering for a hearty meal never makes for a good combination.
The rain wasn't letting up, and we caffeine with a side of said breakfast, so we piled on our rain gear and set off.

Fork & Bottle is a highly rated restaurant just outside of the city center. With one glance at their menu, and the entire Benedict section, there was no question about it; Fork & Bottle it was. Stomachs growling, and hanger settling in, we knew that we didn't want to deal with tram hopping, so UberPop! was our mode of transportation.

I'm telling you this because I love you, make reservations. We didn't know the etiquette of this, and luckily the staff was warm, and accommodating. Call ahead, you'll thank me later.

Don't worry y'all, we got our coffee!
This place is perfect for a relaxed date, a girls brunch, or a family outing. Don't be fooled by the cozy atmosphere though, the food is out of this world.

For the main course the mister opted for the breakfast special. Crispy bacon, caramelized onions, a sweet roll to soak up the broken yoke and molten-like Gruyere cheese. A simple sandwich, done so well that it's hard not to want another right now.

Eggs benny for me (an obvious choice).
Salty, citrusy, and downright unreal.
We mmm'd and ooo'd all through our meal, cleaned the remaining sauce with our house potatoes, and sat back with satisfied grins.

If you're up for it there is a large cocktail menu, and a beer list that excites even a Milwaukeean.
Hands down the best meal that we had while in Zürich!
With our case of jet lag hunger cured, and anxious to explore, we bundled up and headed out.

Our Airbnb was a mere fifteen minute hike from all of the action. Costing far less than a hotel, in an unbeatable location, plus you get to live like a local.
Does it get any better than that?

My advice if you're visiting on a Sunday; pack some snacks, venture out when everything is closed, the square isn't being used as a parking lot, and you'll have the place to yourself.
The Zunfthaus zur Meisen stood stoically amongst a sea of pastel colored building and numerous alleyways called to be explored.
