Vogueing at The Met

Hello There!

Just as Cinderella threw back her curtains to welcome a new day, I did the same. Only not in my castle but in the heart of Times Square.
A cloudy morning emerged. The overcast sky brilliantly suited as the backdrop for the charged city, and scampering crowds.Beautyosaurs Lex- New York City-Times Square- The Metropolitan Museum of Art-Summer-Travel-lifestyle
Still shuffling slow from the cornucopia of pizza, a fresh market nestled in the city fit the breakfast-bill.
Proper fuel for our peripatetic day at hand.Beautyosaurs Lex- New York City-Times Square- The Metropolitan Museum of Art-Summer-Travel-lifestyleBeautyosaurs Lex- New York City-Times Square- The Metropolitan Museum of Art-Summer-Travel-lifestyleBeautyosaurs Lex- New York City-Times Square- The Metropolitan Museum of Art-Summer-Travel-lifestyleBeautyosaurs Lex- New York City-Times Square- The Metropolitan Museum of Art-Summer-Travel-lifestyleBeautyosaurs Lex- New York City-Times Square- The Metropolitan Museum of Art-Summer-Travel-lifestyleBeautyosaurs Lex- New York City-Times Square- The Metropolitan Museum of Art-Summer-Travel-lifestyle
After the essentials were out of the way (food, water, J.Crew), we navigated to the Metropolitan Museum of Art.Beautyosaurs Lex- New York City-Times Square- The Metropolitan Museum of Art-Summer-Travel-lifestyle
Want to feel teeny?
Like, The Borrowers teeny?
Brave the MET midday on a Friday. Swarms of people, towering sculptures and stair cases that will have you whispering to yourself, "don't look down".

Hours passed before we decided to brave the simmering city again.
Mere strides beyond the entrance lies a world full of shopping that was just yearning to be discovered.Beautyosaurs Lex- New York City-Times Square- The Metropolitan Museum of Art-Summer-Travel-lifestyle
And would you look at that, cerulean skies open just in time for our boutique-hopping rendezvous.
Must be fate!Beautyosaurs Lex- New York City-Times Square- The Metropolitan Museum of Art-Summer-Travel-lifestyleBeautyosaurs Lex- New York City-Times Square- The Metropolitan Museum of Art-Summer-Travel-lifestyle
Perhaps it was the smoldering heat, the effulgent sun burning my shoulders or the street meat aroma in the air, but there is something so peaceful about the Bethesda Fountain.
You become captivated with the grinning crowd, young and old, and transcend out of the hectic island.Beautyosaurs Lex- New York City-Times Square- The Metropolitan Museum of Art-Summer-Travel-lifestyleBeautyosaurs Lex- New York City-Times Square- The Metropolitan Museum of Art-Summer-Travel-lifestyle
Central Park proved to be the oasis that we had all been longing for.
Voting for the "let's just chill in a park" vibe, a picnic seemed like the ultimate solution for our growling stomachs.Beautyosaurs Lex- New York City-Times Square- The Metropolitan Museum of Art-Summer-Travel-lifestyleBeautyosaurs Lex- New York City-Times Square- The Metropolitan Museum of Art-Summer-Travel-lifestyleWe bee lined it to collect our picnic paraphernalia, but couldn't help but to linger and buzz around the wild flowers. Lush, lavish, and everything and more than Sex & the City had led me to believe.Beautyosaurs Lex- New York City-Times Square- The Metropolitan Museum of Art-Summer-Travel-lifestyleBeautyosaurs Lex- New York City-Times Square- The Metropolitan Museum of Art-Summer-Travel-lifestyle
Sore feet in need of some aiding, we found a seat and tucked into our picnic.Beautyosaurs Lex- New York City-Times Square- The Metropolitan Museum of Art-Summer-Travel-lifestyleBeautyosaurs Lex- New York City-Times Square- The Metropolitan Museum of Art-Summer-Travel-lifestyle
Gregarious faces listening to an old friends' story, love struck couples in a trance from the world around them, a cluster of grandpas teaching their grandchildren chess, toddlers taking their first steps on the prickly lawn.
All whilst we sipped our wine and savored the last few moments of golden light painted across the city.
