Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Full Coverage Foundation Review

Hello there!

I am sure you have probably heard of this foundation if you are into "beauty", if not then you are in for a treat, if I do say so myself. I have had the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Full Coverage foundation since November but foundations are different and I like to test them out for a long while so I have a thorough review and feel confident enough on the product.

The clay consistency is quite like a heavy mousse, it boasts 16 shades which is rather remarkable. It is a full coverage foundation, but I like to moisturize really well and then use a smaller amount to get a medium coverage. I think this is a bit too heavy to wear as your day to day foundation.

The packaging has it's benefits, the wood lid is charming with everything else Tarte, and the container lets you control how much you dispense and in a sanitary matter.

The finish leans more towards the matte side, so it would be suitable for oily-prone skin types, but since it is so thick and moisturizing I could see a lot of people with dry skin enjoying this as well. I cannot say that it lasts for twelve full hours, but it does last me an entire eight-hour shift, and I cannot help myself from using a setting spray.

There is an SPF of 15, which might scare people of a flashback, but I did not find that that was the case.

Overall this foundation is lovely and does not seem to bother my sensitive skin. Tarte boasts of their sulfate, paraben, mineral oils, and fragrance free range, as they should. I would save this foundation for a night out or an event as opposed to everyday wear. The cost is $38, but for all of the hype that this has been receiving it might just be worth shelling out the money and finding your perfect foundation.
